MY FAMILY & OTHER ANIMALS

We have adopted a variety of rescue animals including three horses, three donkeys, five dogs, a cat, a guinea fowl, chickens and rabbits.

Horses

Three horses live at Chez Raud and as they are adopted all came with unusual names

• a 16.2 hand hunter called 'Farqua'
• a 15.2 hand show-jumper called 'Eclipse'
• a 14.2 hand tri-coloured pony called 'Cartel' who is the smallest and leader of the group

Donkeys Living with the horses you will also see our beautiful donkey named 'Clare' after Jim & Monique's grown-up daughter! You can also meet 'Nelly' of the world-famous Baudet hairy donkey breed. 'Nelly' had a foal in May 2011, born at Chez raud and delivered by Jim.

Horseriding & grooming

We have many woods and bridleways adjoining the property on which to enjoy trekking in the beautiful countryside. Riding is free for all guests. Unfortunately we cannot arrange insurance, we suggest you purchase personal accident insurance prior to arrival.

Many of our guests, especially children, enjoy feeding, grooming and caring for the horses and donkeys. Jim is always happy to offer supervised instruction.

Dogs and cats

We also have four friendly and energetic dogs: 'Baia', 'Boubou', 'Filou' & 'Rosie', Jack Russell terriers, who are always ready for a walk in the fields. 'Oscar', a ginger tomcat, can normally be found sleeping in the warmest part of the terrace.

Poultry

The silky bantam hens provide us with fresh eggs that you may help us collect. Two rabbits keep them company. There is also a noisy guinea fowl appropriately named 'Dotty'.
